Holly Jolly Christmas

Um... these have been the best few days EVER.

Friday, I visited school and saw everyone i love. Moulton is naming her baby Violet, which is one of my favorite names ever. Went to the all-school sing, which was lots of fun, except for the whole singing peace on earth only one time thing. Not okay. Then hung out with paige and went to the dance. Now, this dance was pretty much the best thing that has ever happened. I danced SO much. And my mom danced so much too. I loved the music, loved the vibe, loved the dancing. It was great.

Saturday, I went shopping for christmas presents with Katherine, Sid, and Luke. Got some good stuff. We had some McDonald's (delicious) for a quick snack and then came home to decorate the tree and make cookies! I made a rainbow christmas tree and one cookie had a holly plant made of sprinkles. I got creative this year. The tree is, of course, lovely. Crazy homemade ornaments and rainbow lights. It's the way to go.

Sunday, I wrapped some gifts in the morning and then had a christmas movie marathon with sid and the siblings. Watched the grinch, beauty and the beast the enchanted christmas, rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, and charlie brown christmas in that order. Then went to meet ben and cameron to say hi. Made some juice and pizza and watched prince caspian.

and TODAY I am finishing some christmas shopping, meeting up with the music theorists for some Amar later (yes!) and chillin. Such good times.

Slumdog Millionaire

To all who are reading (Chuck), go see slumdog millionaire! I saw it on a whim 2 nights ago and it was brilliant. The acting was excellent, especially for the 6-year-old kids!

Finals are officially here! It's monday, and I luckily don't have anything to do, but tomorrow I have a quick presentation for Expos and a MONSTER final for Visual Society. I'm only sticking around on Wednesday for the last day of class for speech (which I will miss so very much). I have no clue when I'm going to pack. Maybe a little bit today, between studying.

OMG so excited to come home for christmas. Will see my family, boyfriend, dearest MVS, muse machine, and my puppy!

Also, I don't know if I ever made this public (to Chuck), but I am 99% sure that I'll be going to the Netherlands for spring semester sophomore year!!! This means three months of chilling with the dutch, seeing places like Amsterdam, London, possibly Paris, and going somewhere in Europe for spring break (for me, this means Ireland, no questions asked). Hopefully, they will put me in the travel writing course which I so desperately want to take. That would be nice.

Anyway, there are 10 days until Christmas. Today I plan on celebrating by.... studying my ass off! And perhaps getting a start on that online shopping I have left to do.

The Downside of Christmas

So last year I was really happy that I got to surprise Sid with a recording of me singing a song. Now that I have done that, and now that my voice has become disgusting, I had to think of some other cute christmas surprise.

I thought about really going all out and getting him a guitar because I know that he's interested in playing. But then it turned out that his mom was getting him one. Foiled.

So the second surprise I had in mind was kind of hilarious. He recently added Emmy Rossum to his top 5 ladies. He didn't know she was a recording artist so i bought the album and was going to give it to him. He probs would not have liked the music itself, but since it was her, he would have gotten a kick out of it.

But no. My roommate indirectly strikes again, putting up a link to Emmy's music on her facebook. Sid found it and now knows.

So I thought okay, what else could I do? Perhaps a nice dinner and then introducing him to a family tradition--christmas eve mass. I love christmas eve mass. It's all dark outside and exciting and everything. And Sid has never been to a mass before, so I thought it would just be interesting to educate him (to the best of my knowledge) about the tradition. Right?

Wrong. He went to a Catholic mass this week. Fuck my life.

Anyone have ideas?
